Last Friday, EP in collaboration with Sean Kelly Gallery threw our own version of an #ArmoryWeek party!
Best described here:
MeLo-X has been apart of Sean Kelly’s Armory Week event for the past 3 years. This year, he curated an event that paid homage to the history of dance in Jamaica. Electric Punanny, a music duo including MeLo-X and Jasmine Solano, provided sounds for the night. Vintage 90’s to early 2000’s footage of legendary dancers like “Bruk up”, “Bogle”, and “Flex in Brooklyn” were projected throughout the gallery walls. The Maineventt Flex Dancers provided a modern Flexn routine that brought amazing live energy to the musical landscape that Electric Punanny provided. By the end of the night, as attendees began to exit the gallery, they were greeted with grilled jerk chicken and rasta pasta being served on the street by Brooklyn’s own Brixz Grill. It’s safe to say that Brooklyn was definitely in the house for Armory week.
